Honoring Moms
MOTHERS
PLANT SO THEIR CHILDREN MAY HARVEST. MOTHERS CRY WHEN THEIR CHILDREN
HURT. MOTHERS WELCOME PAIN AND BURDEN TO GIVE THEIR SONS AND
DAUGHTERS THE GIFT
OF
LIFE.
____
AND ___ WILL NOW PRESENT THEIR MOTHERS WITH FLOWERS, AS SYMBOLS OF
ETERNAL GRATITUDE FOR THEIR UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, THEIR UNYIELDING
STRENGTHS IN TIMES OF HARDSHIP, AND FOR ALL THE SELFLESS SACRIFICES
THEY HAVE MADE FOR THEIR CHILDREN.
Moment of Silence
At
this time, we'd like to take a moment of silence to remember those
who are not here with us.
Even
though they are not here physically, they are a part of the
foundation that makes _____ and _____ the people they are today.
May
we remember ___________________________.
Please
cherish the memories of these friends and family and all others who
live on in our hearts.
Opening Prayer 1
Let
us pray. God, we ask for your blessings upon this man and woman, as
we celebrate this momentous occasion in their lives.
Grant
them happiness and contentment as they establish their new home,
create a new family and explore the depths of their love for one
another and for you.
Bless
their families and friends and the relationships, which have
supported, strengthened and sustained them throughout their lives.
Bless
their home as a place of love and of peace.
And
if times grow hard and tempers grow short, help them to look into
their hearts and remember the love that brought them here today.
Opening Prayer 2
Let
Us Pray God,
as you join us today, we ask for your blessings upon this couple as
they unite in marriage.
Let
all their days together by happy and all their words to each other be
sweet.
Though
their paths are intertwined, let them be aware of each other's
separateness. Bless their home and allow it to be a place of joy and
serenity.
Remind
them to nurture each other's body with mutual love, honor and
respect. Let their spirits dwell within.
As
they learn from one another, may they grow stronger as individuals
and closer as a couple.
And
as their wedded life beings today with prayer, so may they continue
it, praying for and with each other.

Love and Friendship by

I love you, not for what you are, but what I am, when I am with you.
I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but what you are making of me.
I love you for the part of me that you bring out.
I love you for putting your hand into my heaped up heart and passing over all the frivolous and weak things that you cannot help seeing there, and for drawing out into the light all the beautiful and radiant things that no one else has looked quite far enough to find...
I love you because you have done more than any creed could have done to make me good, and more than any fate could have done to make me happy.
You have done it without a touch, without a word, without a sign. You have done it by being yourself.

True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.

That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.

And hears with gentle ear,

And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.
Carrie's Poem" from Sex
and the City
His hello was the end of her endings Her laugh was their first step down the aisle
His hand would be hers to hold forever His forever was as simple as her smile
He said she was what was missing She said instantly she knew
She was a question to be answered And his answer was "I do"

Ephesians 5:25-28 and 31-33
Husbands,
love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself
for it. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that
loveth his wife loveth himself. For this cause shall a man leave his
father and mother and shall be joined unto his wife and they two
shall be one flesh. However each one of you also must love his wife
as he loves himself and the wife respect her husband.

From the Book of RUTH
And
Ruth said, “Entreat me not to leave you or to return from following
you; for where you go I will go and where you lodge I will lodge;
your people shall be my people and your God my God; where you die I
will die and there will I be buried. May the lord do so to me and
more also if even death parts me from you.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love
is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never
boastful or conceited, it is never rude or selfish, it does not take
offense and is not resentful.
Love
takes no pleasure in other people’s faults, but delights in the
truth.
It
is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope. It is always ready to
endure whatever comes. True love does not come to an end.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two
are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is
alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up. Again, if two
lie together, they are warm; but how can one be warm alone? And
though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will
withstand him.

Art of Marriage
A
Good Marriage must be created.
In
the Art of Marriage, the little things are the big things;
It
is never being too old to hold hands.
It
is remembering to say, "1 love you," at least once each
day.
It
is never going to sleep angry.
It
is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives;
It
is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It
is speaking of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in
thoughtful ways.
It
is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It
is giving each other atmosphere in which each can grow.
It
is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It
is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It
is not only marrying the right partner. It is being the right
partner.
